The Dalai Lama’s historic summer palace, Lhasa Tibet
The summer home of the Dalai Lamai, the Potola. After almost four weeks of 12 hour days we returned to Lhasa to decompress and I was determined to make an image of this symbolic palace. For three straight days while the rest of the team slept restfully, I set up in various places in the city waiting for the sun to rise. Overcast, flat, ugly light foiled me each day. On the fourth day I said enough and climbed to the observation deck of the hotel (read there was no lock on the service door to the roof.) The sun came out, approaching storm clouds rolled by and I shot a sequence of 1500 images of time lapse. This is one of those images.
