Last year we were hired by Jay Jones and Squiddl to shoot motion film (HDDSLR video) at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field trials in Eugene, Oregon. Over sever rainy, cloudy, sunny and amazing days we shot athletes, inspiration and tribulations. I’ve shot pro sports, x-games, and major college football but this event was something magical. I’ve tried to explain to people what it is like to shoot amateur athletes that are competing in a win or go home situation. Then seeing mom’s and dad’s, kids, girlfriends and boyfriends, embrace athletes with the passion and emotion that nothing except the Olympics can instill.
It was emotional even for me, sitting in the field mere feet from the action. Well, Jay nailed it and was able to express everything I couldn’t in the final piece TrackTown12 – A Mini Doc. Check it out. Share it! Nice work Jay!
